Welcome to our first newsletter of 2024. As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, we are enjoying connecting with so many of you at events around the country. Alongside which, we continue to develop our ongoing career development support programmes for current and former professional dancers, from all genres, across the UK. Next month we are particularly delighted to be partnering with The Jam Festival and Swindon Dance. We'll join their international celebration of underground dance with a DCD event celebrating inspiring career stories, performances and films from hip hop artists.
Last month we were delighted to gather with One Dance UK’s award nominees from the dance community and humbled to receive the Dance Changemaker Award, in recognition of our ongoing impact and importance across the dance sector. We also welcomed a fantastic new cohort of dance artists to our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Group. A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing, inaugural group, their work and input over the last two years has been transformational. We offer our congratulations to Seeta Patel, who was part of that group, for being recently appointed as an Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells and being nominated for an Olivier Award.
